Several years into Joseph Bartosch's coaching relationship with Worthwhile, the company's CEO articulated a strategic objective: he wanted Worthwhile to become one of the most desirable employers in the Upstate. Joseph helped leadership move the objective from aspiration to something measurable.
Survey. Evaluate. Improve.
The work began with a reputable third-party employee-engagement survey. Results were benchmarked, lower-scoring areas were identified, and employee feedback informed an intentional improvement plan. Broad Insights' contemporaneous account says Joseph worked with Worthwhile's leadership to create and execute that plan.
After three years of repeating the process—survey, evaluate, improve—and exceeding improvement goals in lower-scoring areas, Worthwhile entered South Carolina's Best Places to Work program for the first time.
First application
#3 in South Carolina
Worthwhile ranked #3 in its category in its first year applying.
The journey continued.
The initial ranking was not the end of the story. Worthwhile continued to be recognized in subsequent years. In 2024, the independent Best Places to Work in South Carolina program ranked The Worthwhile Company, LLC #1 in the Small Employer category.
It would overstate the evidence to claim that coaching alone caused a ranking achieved years later. The achievement belongs to Worthwhile's leaders and employees. What is independently documented is that Joseph helped the company define the original objective, establish a measurement-and-improvement process, and execute culture improvements during the years leading to its first #3 ranking.
In the client's words
“This honor would not be possible without the help of Broad Insights. Joseph and the team have kept us true to our culture for over 3 years, consistently refining our way of doing business while tracking our employee engagement.”
Source note: the coaching history and quotation are documented by Broad Insights in its 2018 account of Worthwhile's first Best Places to Work recognition. The 2024 #1 ranking is published by the independent Best Places to Work in South Carolina program.
