Joseph Bartosch, EdD

CEO, entrepreneur, executive leader, Certified Professional Business Coach, educator, and trusted advisor.

About Joseph

Experience from both sides of the table.

Joseph Bartosch has spent his career leading organizations, developing people, and helping executives make better decisions. His work has crossed business, technology, education, marketing, organizational strategy, and professional coaching—giving him an unusually broad view of how leaders and organizations actually function.

Before entering professional coaching, Joseph built experience in sales and business development, represented major companies including IBM and AT&T, founded and led businesses, and served in executive and institutional leadership. His roles have included Chief Executive Officer, Chief Brand Officer, Dean of Distance Learning, information-technology leadership, and headmaster.

That operating experience continues to shape his approach to coaching. He understands that leadership decisions are rarely isolated. A choice involving people can affect culture; a communication problem can become an execution problem; and a strategy that looks good on paper can fail when ownership and accountability are unclear.

Executive leadership

Responsibility changes the conversation.

Joseph's counsel is grounded in the experience of carrying organizational responsibility himself. As a CEO and senior leader, he has worked with the same questions his clients face: how to set priorities, build trust, hold people accountable, communicate difficult decisions, protect culture, and keep an organization moving when circumstances are complicated.

He believes leaders often do not need another person to give them generic advice. They need someone who will listen carefully, understand context, identify the real issue, and say what needs to be said. That conviction is the foundation of his coaching model: clarity, action steps, and accountability.

Education & credentials

Business experience informed by the study of people.

Joseph earned graduate preparation in counseling and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction, with proficiencies spanning psychology, communication, and theology. He holds the Certified Professional Business Coach credential from the Professional Business Coaches Alliance and has also earned the Certified Information Executive designation.

In 2019, the Professional Business Coaches Alliance recognized him as Business Coach of the Year in the United States.

Coaching philosophy

Personal, candid, practical.

Joseph works with a deliberately limited number of senior leaders, executives, and business owners. The goal is continuity: enough knowledge of the leader and organization to make each conversation more useful than the last.

He has often summarized one of his underlying convictions with the phrase “Love is good business.” In his usage, love does not mean sentimentality or avoidance of difficult decisions. It means telling the truth, treating people with dignity, and leading with genuine concern for people while still requiring excellence and accountability.

Joseph continues to write and speak about leadership, management, organizational culture, and the disciplines that help leaders move from insight to action.
